Fire-breasted Flowerpecker (Dicaeum ignipectus), Latpanchar, Mahananda WLS: A tiny songbird who some consider as the smallest bird in India (measures <7cm long and weighs just 7-9g) can be sighted in the forests of Himalayas and North-eastern India. It is among the few flowerpeckers who exhibit sexual dimorphism. Adult male is glossy blue above and pale creamy white below with a bright red stain-like patch on the breast, while the female is much plainer, brownish-olive above and off-white below.
