Siberian Rubythroat (Calliope calliope): A shy, ground-loving winter visitor that prefers to stay hidden. Once, I saw a bird skulking among the bushes next to some ugly plastic trash strewn on a hill slope, a rather common sight these days. All of a sudden, the bird came out of the bush revealing its jewel like red throat on an otherwise dull brown body. In that moment, I realised that beauty can turn up at the last place you are looking for.
